However, the first merged issues were usually excellent, all the characters meeting & greeting each other on the cover, free gifts, competitions and new features as well as a redesign. Apparently this was IPC policy rather than failure; the newly-merged titles always sold many more copies than the separate titles had done. I well remember Krazy (the best IPC title ever) merging into Whizzer & Chips, Cheeky merging into Whoopee! and everything (Monster Fun, Jackpot, etc) merging into Buster.
